What is the Black, African & African American Graduation?

黑人，非洲人 & African American Graduation Celebration is an annual tradition sponsored by 密歇根州立大学丹佛’s African American Affairs Council. In addition the council will be collaborating with the Community College of 丹佛 and the University of Colorado at 丹佛 to honor their graduates as well.

We encourage our graduates to reflect on their experiences at 密歇根州立大学丹佛 by realizing that they have the skills, 知识, 资源, and strength to be successful with their new endeavors.  the program will consist of a welcome by senior level administrators and faculty, 接着是晚餐, 还有一个主题演讲. Our graduates will be presented with a Kente cloth stole which symbolizes very special occasions within African culture. 研究生s are encouraged to where their Kente stoles during the college’s graduation ceremony. Then the graduates will then have an opportunity to share with the group any thoughts or emotions regarding this very special time in their lives. Last the graduates will be charged by the director of alumni as official graduates of the Metropolitan State University of 丹佛.

Spring 2024 Black, African & African American Graduation Celebration

This is a special time of year when our graduates complete their journey of excellence and begin their lives as Alums of 密歇根州立大学丹佛, leaders in their communities, and role models for their family and friends.
