The goal of the Genomic 研究经历 for 本科s is to prepare and support students for graduate school and/or a career in genomic research. This includes providing high-quality research experiences, professional development opportunities, and mentorship while building a robust community of research scholars.

We are looking for enthusiastic students that are interested in Genomic Research!

Genomic 研究经历 students can enter the program as either a first-year scholar (Novice Scholar) or as a second-year scholar (Apprentice Scholar).

  • Novice Scholars are students who have not yet completed the 16 credits of coursework required (see list below) for the Genomics 研究经历 program and have not participated in any research.
  • Apprentice Scholars are students who have taken a minimum of 8 credits of required coursework (see list below) and have participated in research.

If you are accepted into the GREU program, you will need to complete these requirements.

Required Coursework (16 credits)

· BIO 1080 General Biology I (3 Credits)

· BIO 1090 General Biology Laboratory I (1 Credit)

· BIO 3610 Genetics: Principles & 分析(4学分)

· BIO 390U Genomic and Bioinformatics (3 Credits)

· MTH 1210 Introduction to Statistics (4 Credits)

· UC390 Foundations of Research (1 Credit)

2. 研究经历

· Techniques Bootcamp (3 weeks)

· Three Lab Rotations over the first year

· Summer Immersive Research Experience

3. Professional Development Skills and Mentoring and Community Building

Genomic Research Scholars for Fall 24 Application Period.

This program aims to build scholars’ STEM identity in the pursuit of STEM graduate degrees and careers.

Full consideration will be given for applications submitted before April 15th.

资格: This is an NIH funded program. You must fill all of these requirements:

  • Must have completed one academic year at 密歇根州立大学丹佛
  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Underrepresented in biomedical research.
    • Individuals from racial and ethnic groups such as Blacks or African Americans, 西班牙裔或拉丁裔, American Indians or Alaska Natives, 夏威夷原住民, 和其他太平洋岛民
    • Individuals with disabilities
    • Individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds
    • Women from the above backgrounds at the graduate level and beyond in scientific fields
