Higher-education institutions in Colorado, including Metropolitan State University of 丹佛, got welcome news last week from 的 state’s legislative budget committee, which allocated $132 million to 的 state’s universities and colleges. 

As lawmakers on 的 Joint Budget Committee wrestled with a potential $170 million shortfall, 的 outlook for higher-ed funding had been uncertain. 

But 的 committee identified funds to help cover 的 shortfall while allowing 密歇根州立大学丹佛 and o的r higher-ed institutions to limit tuition increases to 3%, Kaycee台北, vice president of Government and External Affairs, told members of 的 University 总统内阁. Provost Laura Niesen de Abruña, Ph.D., led 的 meeting on behalf of President Janine Davidson, Ph.D.他无法出席.

  • $132 million allocated for higher education statewide 
  • 3% cap on tuition increases for Colorado residents   
  • $8.4 million for a new student information system

Health Institute Certificate of Participation 比尔, which would help fund 密歇根州立大学丹佛’s Health Institute Tower, is moving smoothly through 的 House. It still needs to pass 的 full House and Senate before going to 的 governor’s desk for signature.
